I'm not a big football guy but I listen to sports radio in SF so all I hear about is the Niners. They are obviously pretty good, but it seems to me the Eagles are a lock to win the NFC again. Why do so many think the Niners are contenders vs them? Or is that just the impression I get from homers?

This is the nfl. No team is a lock to win a conference in August especially when it comes to repeating as conference champs because it is just hard to do. Eagles are the favorites but lock? Hell no

I mean it is for good reason. Best DL in NFL. Great lines in general. Explosive offensive weapons. They will win games unless injuries of course but it’s the same for them. Lacking the QB position and that is no offense to Purdy but it’s been like this for a long time

Not sure about get it done but think if healthy as you say they definitely have a shot and no worse than us or Cinci. Hell, they have come close without LJ staying healthy.

I agree lock a bit of a stretch but could consider a heavier favorite than usual for a conference by how the NFC looks right now.....but things can change.

Because the Niners have a lot of talent, they just need/needed a QB. Prior to getting injured, Brock Purdy looked like he could be that guy. If he can pick up where he left off when he got hurt, they could absolutely come out of the NFC.
