I was psyched when I was the last guy in my league to draft a QB and AR12 fell to me haha. Oh my god. His WRs looked out matched. They need Lazard back and they need each of those guys to step forward. I may be QB shopping on the waiver wire this week as insurance.

That being said, I still won my game this week by 35 points.
Lost by less than a half point. My opponent was up half and decided to sit the TB D (since they could theoretically lose points and he'd lose. I've thought about doing that in same situation but didn't for 2 reasons. First, total points a tiebreaker but even more important what if there's a scoring change as sometimes happens? Perhaps my D gets credit for a sack they didn't get? Maybe a RB gets a reception that was ruled a backward pitch?

fingers crossed.

Yeah, with few exceptions, I think a team should always take the points, especially in the NFL. There's too little gap in talent, even between a good team and a bad one to be passing on chances to put points up.
Yeah I don't buy that at all. sure, whenever it fails the fans will go with the obligatory "gotta take the points" but they make the call not knowing what will happen. Crazy, but I might be inclined to blame the line for not opening a hole and/or the RB for fumbling......twice

Recall a game last year the Browns' fans were complaining we passed up a 3 near the GL. "Have to take the points". They ignored on another such occurrence they went and scored a TD. 7 points on the 2 plays. Only 6 if they go for the FGs (assuming they make them).

After week one, that decision comes down to personal opportunity vs Super Bowl odds. The Rams need him much more than the Bills. The Bills already have 4 WR in play, plus the rookie likely to slot in as needed too.

Yeah. Bills don’t make sense.

He should be looking at the Chiefs.

Had they taken the points even once, they're trying to run out the clock on a win on that last drive instead of attempting a 64 yard field goal.

Had they taken the points twice, they are trying to run out the clock and Seattle needs a touchdown to beat them.

I'll stick with should have taken the points.

you can do that but Doc Brown is right about the Space Time continuum. You don't just add the 3 or 6 points as if they do make those the teams play things differently after that.

when teams take the 3 and miss (which does happen a lot) then what? Or how about when they go for the first down and make it? They make these decisions without knowing the result of the play.

Hackett had a brain fart last night....Pay RW so much money and don't trust him enough to get a first down and an easier attempt at a FG.

#Rookiecoachproblems
It was just 1 game but this is why I think Denver is a year away.

Rookie coach, RW learning a new system, and their defense is very possibly over-rated.

DVOA was 20th last season. I know they got some players to add to that defense but 20th is still bad.

A team is more likely to hit an easy field goal than to convert a 4th down.

It's also about the opponent. Seattles offense was unlikely to get a touchdown late in the game.

Meh, I doubt the HC makes that mistake again.

RW looked very comfortable in that offense considering he hit 69% of his passes for 340 yards.

And if they got some better players, you can assume they are better than last year before assuming they aren't.

The fumbles on 4th and short inside the 5 is more of a reason why the Broncos didnt win than the 4th down decision. Not like they were easily moving the ball that drive. 4th and medium is not a guarantee conversion

But you said "with few exceptions" not just these 2 times. As to this game they did not know what the score would be "late in the game" at the end of the first half.

Now I can agree with this coach (especially seeing what he did at the end) he truly may have just gone by his "gut" and not any kind of data.

No, but he could make other rookie HC mistakes.....it's a lot different being the head man.

He did, took him a while to target a WR but he settled in and played well.....

That loss was pretty bad since expectations were Seattle was going to win 4-5 games this season and tanking for a QB in the next draft.

Yep should also be noted that the D pitched a shutout in the 2nd half

You have a better chance at converting a 4th and 5 than a 64 yard field goal.

LOL.

Learn how to read. Never said you didn't. I said it is not a guarantee conversion.

People can hate/disagree with the decision all they want but the kick had the distance so it wasn't a terrible decision. Not like he didnt have the leg for it

4th and 5 isn't easy. Defense line can pin their ears back while the secondary can play the sticks.

My biggest issue on the play was how indecisive they were and time wasting. The kicker said his target line was the 46 which is where they were at. Needed to move faster just in case of a missed kick since they had all of their timeouts. Could have gotten the ball back with 20 seconds or so
