Really wish Portland had won the lottery but I can't complain that they moved up two spots. Just REALLY REALLY wish they had won it this year.

This shit is shady. NFL does it right, the rest are ripe for cheating as seen tonight where worst team in NBA gets 5th pick

I think it went fine. The NBA is trying to dissuade tanking, and the Spurs weren't that team this year. They were however bad, and got the #1 pick. Not rewarding tanking, but not going overboard to reward a team that just missed the playoffs either.

Use your brain instead of your heart. You love the league so you won't accept reality.

Everybody watched the San Antonio dynasty. But it was along time ago. Needs a refresh. And right on cycle.

Your top 3 in odds for #1:
Spurs won 5 of their first 7 games, 8-13 in their last 21.
Houston started 1-11, 9-12 in their last 21.
Detroit started 3-15, 2-23 in their last 25.

An interesting rule would be to prevent teams from being in the lottery two years in a row, but that's a bit extreme.

I've wanted something similar to that, some kind of tiered system. Winning #1 pushes you out of the top 5 for a set number of years. 2 top 5s does something similar, as does 3 top 10s. Spread the young talent around the league instead of allowing hoarding.

I don't see much, if any evidence that it's working. Seems like the same number of teams are tanking every year. Heck, we just watched the Mavs give up being at least in the play in to tank.

It's still an easier path than your front office actually knowing how to build a team and acquire matured talent.

Ping pong balls should not be deciding history and who gets fired

Apparently they came very close. That would've really been interesting re: Dame. I don't think Wemby is an instant fix though.

Depending on where you finish in the lottery, a consecutive appearance would shave percentage points off the various spots.

However, this might make it really tough for the mid market teams.

If the salary cap had teeth, market shouldn't matter as much.

Of course a warrior fan would deny deny deny. Everyone in California ran away from somewhere else. Pathetic.
Go the F away. You are ruining it for the reasonable conspiracy folks who can make a point without being a complete idiot.

Interesting stat I read this morning, no one as tall as wemby has ever played 1000 games
Well how many players have been 7'2" or over in the NBA. If we are using his height with shoes (7'5") then the list dramatically shrinks

How many were projected to be stars let alone superstars? Few.

Kareem was listed at 7'2" btw

Star/superstars
Kareem - 1,560
