All about money

One interesting note about our formula for determining the best-selling jerseys prior to 2001 was that there was one constant anomaly that went against our whole philosophy of the best-selling jerseys often coming from NBA championship teams and MVPs. That one outlier was the San Antonio Spurs. As enjoyable as the Spurs were to watch, not once did Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker lead the league in jersey sales in any of their five championship runs in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, or 2014.

Which is why the league would never rig the lotto to put its best prospect in San Antonio.

You aren’t making sense.

Why on earth would you go in that order?

Makes no sense

Sa should be picking 4th

You can’t be serious.

You do the grand prize first when everyone is eligible for it.

Nothing worse than being out of the race because the door prize was given away first.

Yeah someone wasn’t exactly thinking straight on that one.

Go in order

Just like they did last night

They do

Starting at 1.

They just unveil them in reverse order for dramatic effect.

Way better TV that way.

This makes zero sense, unless it's just another way for you to say you're bummed the Spurs got the first pick

Why wouldn’t you lottery in the decending order?

First one out gets 4

Second. 3 etc

It’s common sense

@eaglesnut says: "Fake news, NBA plants these stories, you are all sheep"

It's obviously a multi-generational conspiracy to make sure that those "boring" small media market Spurs keep on winning even more nba championships. Because reasons.

Dude, you are advocating that not all the lottery teams have a shot at number 1. That kind of defies the reason for having a lottery in the first place.

If you do it the way you're suggesting, you're eliminating teams as you go. That's not how a lottery works.

Each team is given so many lottery ball combinations. They draw #1 first because its the top prize and gives everyone their best earned shot at it based on where they finished. So doing it your way, if they drew #4 first and it went to Detroit, they just got fucked despite having a statistical tie for having the most lottery number combinations.

The reason the TV show goes 14 to 1 is because its a TV show. They are building drama.

If it was in front of a camera they would fake it too. But why bother when no one really cares that it's fake. Some win, some lose. Just keep the ball moving and count the money.

If "no one care that it's fake"...

Why are you crying?

For all you conspiracy nuts, here you can watch the ACTUAL lottery. NBA releases it after the televised ESPN show. What happened?

They draft 4 slots. SA won the #1 pick. Charlotte won the #2 pick. Portland won the #3 pick. But then San Antonio and Charlotte kept winning the 4th pick so they had to re-do it each time until a new team popped up.

Man.

Your logic is just so backwards on a lot of things.

Common sense isn’t so common apparently. What you are saying is just wrong.

Had a bad wind and hail storm last night that knocked over a tree on one of the main lines on the main road the feeds off all the little side streets. My power went out exactly when Ben Wallace just about died on stage when Detroit drew #5. If it would have just waited like 2 more minutes to fall I could have seen the rest of the reactions. :gaah:

What a gut punch for Charlotte yet again. In the Dwight Howard draft, they came up 2nd and got Emeka Okafor. In the Anthony Davis draft, they came up #2 and got Michael Kidd Gilcrest. And now this. They are so fucking cursed. Now you see why they were my sentimental pick to win it. They desperately need SOMETHING to go their way. .

That MKG pick was a risk from the start. A non-shooter at #2 is a bit rich. At least Okafor won ROY.

The guy has a microphone in his ear and someone is telling him exactly when to hit the button. See, rigged.
There is a set time the balls are supposed to mix for prior to each selection.
