Interesting thought. I'm not against it.

Yup, i just kept thinking over the last 2 weeks with Ramos on the DL, it seemed like the 7-8-9 hitters were retired in a row each and every time. I think Span can create some havoc at the bottom of the order. And honestly, once you get into the middle innings, it wont matter. Span would leadoff some innings, and be on base for Bryce and Rendon.

I thought long and hard about this. Span's OBP is .313. Not good for a leadoff hitter. Nats as a team are 25th in MLB in OBP from the leadoff spot. Once Bryce gets back into the swing of things, i might try this:

1. Bryce
2. Rendon
3. Werth
4. LaRoche
5. Zim
6. Ramos
7. Dez
8. Span

Too crazy? And again, it has more to do with the lineup being stacked than Span being bad.

Mine:

1. Werth
2. Rendon
3. Zimmerman
4. LaRoche
5. Harper
6. Desmond
7. Ramos
8. Span

(I literally had this conversation today)

Yeah, I am not too concerned about actually "leading off" because (as you said) that happens in the first inning really only. My key is the right guys getting extra at bats at the end of the game.

Hmm would you want two lefties hitting back to back? I do like Werth leading off as well, since he's not hitting for much power this year

Do we have one set up? PM it to me and I will get it put up. Sorry I have been so sparse on all of the boards recently but work has been hectic as all hell.

Ya eloco made one. I have no idea how to PM a banner lol but i just bumped the Banner thread. It's right there.

They've had the leadoff guy on base at least 3 or 4 times in the first 6 innings. Ugh.

Gaaaaaahhhh. 2 on, nobody out, 3-0 count to LaRoche and whoever this rookie pitcher is strikes him out.

Come on bats wake the fuck up. Maybe putting 3 lefties in the lineup was a bad idea?
