We don't give up a first inning run despite an error. Espi breaks out of his slump of late with a solo homer. Zach Walters has a hit other than a homerun. Is the world about to end?

At least we know Roark can pitch great on the road. And i guess it's a good thing Sorryano's first BS (blown save) came against an AL team, better than any NL team.

But damn, our #5 pitcher out-pitched their ace on the road. It really, really, really stinks to not get that W.

So thru just 35 games, 5 (of 8) opening day starters have landed on the DL, not including Fister and Hairston.

See-saw affair in game 1. Nats come out on top. West coast games suck.

Last night's game was crazy. Nats couldnt catch a break all night. D-backs kept making exceptional defensive play after exceptional defensive play. And Span's ground rule double that would have scored McLouth from 1st was maddening.

.... but then enter Espinosa and Frandsen in the 9th

Martin Prado and Aaron Hill stay crushing Nats pitching. I think the most surprising thing last night was Prado grounding out to end the game with a RISP. I was so sure he was gonna tie the game.

I am 150% against what the Nats just did.

1-1 game - top 5th - runners on the corners for Stras with 1 out..... and he bunts. Now we still need a friggin 2-out hit to score a run. Why cant Stras swing away?

And Span strikes out. Inning over.

Arroyo just got another hit off Stras. He's 2 for 2. Our pitcher cant even swing away with a guy at 3rd and 1 out.

I have serious doubts this team can even tread water with Bryce, Zim and Laroche on the shelf for the forseeable future and the starting rotation not pitching up to expectations. Here's to hoping Fister can get the series win tomorrow. Not sure where the offense is gonna come from though.

What I dislike more is Frandsen bunting for a hit with 1 out and a runner on 2nd before the pitcher. Drive the damn runner home, Kevin (and Williams). They planned, in a best case scenario, to have to drive home the runner with a 2 out hit.

Man i didnt even think about that. Yes, that too, is dumb baseball. I guess Bronson Arroyo and his career 4.19 ERA were too intimidating to the Nats.

Looking at today's lineup is a scary sight. Rendon's .283 avg is BY FAR the 2nd best avg.
