What happened to Harper? What kind of homer did Werthquake hit off Fernandez?

Can't tell you about the hockey...I saw the first period of TB and MTL but that was it, 1-1 after 1.

Harper is out because his quad apparently tightened up on him. That's what was bothering him when we noticed his running a little funny a couple days ago.

Both starters were great. 1 mistake by Roark was a 3 run homer by Deitrich. Other than that he was very good. Werth's homer was an opposite field rocket that landed in the front row. Was reviewed quickly because a couple of fans tried to catch it and it fell back on the field, but was upheld. The outfielders knew it was gone and didn't even try to go after it when it landed on the track. Fernandez was really good otherwise. Not a whole lot of action in this one.

Yeah, I was thinking things were a bit bleak when Deitrich hit that homer. But an error on Salty allowed the Werth homer, so all 3 runs were unearned, but who cares?!? Pitcher bunted with a runner on 2nd and Salty tried to throw him out at 3rd and pulled the 3rd baseman off the bag so both runners were safe. A few batters later with 2 outs and boom!

Niiiice. Yeah i could not care less if they were unearned. 3 runs off Jose Fernandez is 3 runs off Jose Fernandez. May be the only 3-run lead he blows all year.

That's a very good win. Didnt think it would happen. 2-4 road trip sounds a lot better than 1-5. Bring on the Cards. We have trouble with these guys too. At least Kozma got sent down to the minors. Haha

It's a 7 day concussion DL, and the last game he played in was on Friday. So I think that means he's eligible to come off it on Saturday.

I'd certainly be ok with a split, but they need to start winning these kinds of series. St. Louis is a real good team. But so are the Nats, supposedly. They need to start beating the best teams in the league if they want to be the best team in the league.

Couldnt agree more. I just dont love these particular pitching matchups. If we can steal game 1 tonight, their ace vs our #5, then anything can happen.

Zimmermann's gotta figure these guys out too. Career 8.27 ERA in 6 starts against STL.
