Yep, Wendlestedt Umpire School back in 2005. It was a blast. I obviously didn't get selected for pro ball (nor should I have been), but it was a good time and learned a lot.

Sounds pretty cool! I think i would hate to be an ump though. Seems like a thankless job. Everyone hates you if you miss a call but no one remembers all the correct calls you make

That's why I eventually stopped doing it, really. I did games back here when I finished Ump School. It was fun at times, but you're basically signing up to get yelled at and argued with all the time. It's not a big deal, but it just gets old after a while. I like to think that I would have enjoyed it if I had been selected for pro ball, but it probably would have just been worse. At least those guys are doing it as their job and not on their free time.
