Now 99 through 6. Did a nice job settling things down and getting some quick contact outs. 8-2 Nats, middle 6th.

I think I would have pulled Gio after 6. Had a decent sized pitch count last game, and starts the 7th with 99. Don't want him getting tired and giving up some lazy runs.

Gio done after 6 2/3. Leaves a runner on 1st. Great job from him battling tonight. Rough start, minimized damage, quality start.

Everything was going right for the Padres for about a two-week span. It's nice when it all falls together like that, isn't it?
