Game Thread: National Championship Game - Gonzaga vs. UNC

I'll admit I don't like UNC and I'm biased against them, but I don't see how a reasonable person could believe that no one in the Athletics department at that university knew that there was a fake program with sham classes that players weren't attending, and it went on for two decades.

That simply takes too great a leap of faith for me to believe.

Maybe I'm a baseball snob, but I prefer a well played series.

Game 7 was a horribly played game.

From a pitching standpoint it was.. but neither team had the depth to last 7 games. Any more innings and the bat boys would have been warming up in the bullpens.

The defense was also atrocious.

Beyond Davis, the Cubs made a few errors and Chisenhall turned a routine single into a guy scoring from first.

I could understand people not believing the coach if we were talking about Kentucky maybe but Roy isn't a cheater like him. Roy has never been accused of anything. He's a class act and does crap the right way.

I am very proud of my gonzaga bull dogs and head coach mark few. Unlike all the big programs we do not have the luxury of having first picks at the top rated high school players and we do not play at a high class location in spokane washington. None of the gonzaga players for the most part are NBA primed players. To me it just says a lot about a coach that can manage to put together a competitive team year after year full of players ranging from places like Canada, Poland and Japan. Whether or not we can make it back to the finals I promise you Gonzaga will be a competitive team next year

Right.. because being a starting QB in the NFL for anything length of time is for sure not as good as winning a trophy for a D5 HS team.

But you do see that your argument is absurd, right? Winning at the HS level is great.. congrats to your son. Those are memories he'll always have. But you can't compare that to being and excellent college QB who wins the Heisman and goes on to be drafted #2 overall. He didn't have a great NFL career.. that's for sure. But a career cut short by injuries doesn't make him a piece of crap.

RG3 is the reason he got injured because his dumbass doesn't know how to slide. Not like they were fluke injuries. Haloti Ngata almost sawed his ass in half.

Ryan Leaf was the no#2 pick behind Peyton, he has more time in prison then RG3 has been an adult. Good news is he is from a military background, disciplined and that wont happen

They had a great season but didn't play very well in the Championship game. I was surprised at their lackluster performance. UNC played poorly too or the game wouldn't have been close.
