If they were smart, they'd stay the hell away from NFL retreads.

1. Lincoln Reilly HC Oklahoma
2. Ryan Ray HC OSU

Two outstanding college coaches under 45 that have done nothing but win.
I believe Riley is no longer at Oklahoma.

this article suggests that Hackett never really had his act together.
nfl.com said:
... Hackett's head-coaching debut -- in which he mismanaged the clock in the game's final minutes and ended up settling for a doomed field goal attempt from 64 yards out -- proved to be foreboding.
It was just the beginning of an ugly month for the Hackett-led Broncos, who consistently appeared underprepared and disorganized, so much so that fans at Empower Field at Mile High resorted to sarcastically counting down the play clock in a Week 2 game in order to help their beloved Broncos snap the ball in time.

You're probably right... Especially with the Broncos cap space and draft capital in trouble due to Russell Wilson...
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about, the Broncos are only missing a 2nd round pick this year(nowhere near considered “draft capitol trouble”) and their cap space is anywhere from $13-20 million depending on what site you’re looking at.

Isn't it rare for a great college HC to become a great pro HC? Many of the demands are completely different.

Lincoln Reilly isn’t the head coach of Oklahoma.

Um, no. The Seahawks get the Broncos first and second rounders this coming draft.

The trade was for 2 firsts, 2 seconds, and a 5th as well as the players traded.

It truly was one of the worst trades in sports history, or best if you are on this side of it.... :becky:

So who will be the Broncos next HC? Sean Payton? Doubt it because the Broncos don't really have any draft picks to send the Saints... Definitely going to be an offensive minded HC imo but Dan Quinn was a finalist last year for the job so he'll be in the mix probably...

They can have Mike McCarthy.

And the Broncos have the 49ers 1st round pick which at worst will be pick 32 but it’s still a 1st, and given you don’t have any of our picks after this year like I said we’re nowhere near draft capitol trouble as you put it.

You make a good argument for the next HC, get a HC position on the resume, get paid rather well , then move on as a retread in the NFL or go to some college job for big bucks.
Be an OC/DC for a few years then come back. If they have success probably get paid more per year then their first stint as HC.

Seattle has Denver's top 5-10 first rounder to go along with their second rounder.

And? That has zero bearing on anything. You’re acting like a coach seeing a team having the 32nd pick(at worst) in the draft and then say the 66th pick is some huge game changing obstacle he can’t overcome when deciding on whether or not to take the job.

Broncos will be better with an experienced coach and a better offensive game-plan that fits Wilson’s skill set … As bad as it’s been there is no way Wilson is this bad, something just wasn’t clicking all year .. That being said Russ should restructure and apologize… LoL

Who said anything about what a coach is seeing? Yes you have SF's pick but you claimed Seattle only had Denver's second which is incorrect. That's it.

Should they give Reich a call? He'd take the job, hell he worked for the weak stick in Indy.

No I didn’t, I claimed Denver still had a 1st round pick which in no way shape or form is “draft capitol trouble” as the person I was responding to stated.

As I said it? I said no such thing.

But if you want to frame that having only 1 pick in the first 65 and just 3 in the first 105 gives you plenty of options for filling in the gaping holes in that roster, you do you.

Seattle will have 4 picks before Denver has their second. If the season ended today, that 4th pick would be 17 picks before the Broncos 2nd.

You can't sugar coat how fucked they are.
