I knew they had purchased the baseball stadium, but had no idea about the gym.

The stadium...I never saw anything where they purchased it, but I thought they might have
because Winston-Salem State never plays any game there anymore.

Wake Forest has always owned Groves Stadium/BB&T Field. They played at city owned Bowman Gray Stadium when they moved from Wake Forest to Winston Salem but that ended when Groves opened in 1968.

I think the confusion is about LJVM Coliseum. The city owned that until 2013

Technically true but... they've been granted control of the Coliseum and have put a good chunk of money into renovations of the stadium.

So it IS kinda like having their own stadium! Besides... WHERE else are they likely able to build a stadium in that area? heh heh

Any place you can see from campus would be worthy of bulldozing in my book....

Winston-Salem State has played their home games at city-owned Bowman Gray Stadium since 1956.
