Of all the teams to sign with Nabby why does it have to be Detroit?

Please someone claim him off waivers.

I don't mind it, save for an injury there's no way Nabby would start in the playoffs over Howard. Babcock is gonna be sick watching teams beat him five hole.

We got it figured out. After we land Nabby, we are gonna pick up Giggy's pads off waivers. And Voila! Nothing left to shoot at...:D

I will be surprised if Nabby doesn't get claimed by another team when he goes through waivers.

Heck the Blues might do it out of spite.

I kinda think it would be fun for somebody to start a Lowe/Burke battle with Holland. I know some other gm's would love to see that.

Look for Detroit to work out a deal with the Devils to claim Nabokov on waivers to avoid the St. Louis troubles with Svatsos and Wellwood.

Wow. You can DO that? Talk about a loophole.

where does jiggy realistically go? i know their are some teams out there that could use services like his, but he's been pretty inconsistant even on the leafs, while yes i know the team often doesn't help how that looks, but what is his true trade value?

i'd bet the leafs would be asking for more than he's worth, or at least be very very stubborn in his asking price, similiar to kaberle

You think any team would want to take a chance on jiggy? Apart from incosistant as RKO mentioned, he has been fighting a groin injury for some time now and what will his condensed cap hit be.....about 1.5 mil.
No thankyou as I wouldn't want to put that much on a goalie whose inconsistant and fighting off the worst inury a goalie can have. That is a big value for a very high risk.

That's the big issue as I see it.

I think a lot of PO contenders would love to have a guy like him as a backup, even at his inflated price tag. Doesn't have to get in to many games down the stretch, so he gets time to rest and heal up his groin, but then you've got a proven PO performer to back up your starter.

With the cap room, it could be worth it. I think the best fit would've been Detroit. His injury will hold him back for a while, but if he can build up some confidence (not unlike Brodeur has in the past few games, after the reality check that he gave himself when he said Hedberg should start), then he's a dangerous guy to have on a stacked team.

I'd say Washington, but I don't think he'd mesh with Irbe as the goalie coach. Toronto really was an ideal situation (remember their start to the season with him), but they've got such a shit team that he hasn't maintained. Great talent, Giguere, but he really makes you appreciate the goalies with strong mental makeup, like the Brodeurs, Osgoods, and Fleurys.

I did not know Irbe is the goalie coach. Some things make more sense now.
