Everyone in Washington keeps calmiing Kipper or Giggy to Washington for neuvirth, a 1st and Andrew Gordon, FWIW.
GOD please let it be Kipper. I Cant see Toronto getting that much for a UFA end of season.
would be a good trade for both Wash and Cgy
Damn Vancouver fans are starting to get almost as obnoxious as Oilers fans...Now that I'm working in Burnaby, I'm getting the full brunt of abuse.

that'll teach you to wear your Flames shirt to work.Damn Vancouver fans are starting to get almost as obnoxious as Oilers fans...Now that I'm working in Burnaby, I'm getting the full brunt of abuse.
I mean, I understand why the Wings are trying this...but how long term are the injuries to the other 2? Shocked a bit to see them go after a big fish like Nabby instead of trying to plug holes.
Jimmy is out a game or two, but Ozzie is out probably for the season.(imo) I'm not buying the 6 to 8 weeks they have him listed for.
Nabby should be creaming his breezers at a shot to play for the Wings. I wouldn't mind it. I also wouldn't mind if he gets picked up on waivers by somebody else (undesirable), then I can have a chuckle at his expense. Win/win.
If Nabby joins the Wings, will he be the only guy on the roster younger than you???
If a deal is completed, Nabokov still must clear waivers, meaning any team that has a worse record than Detroit (27 of them, at last count) can put in a claim for him and prevent him from joining the Red Wings.
To counter this, Holland surely is trying to structure the deal to discourage other clubs from putting in a claim. That's why it will surely be a multi-year pact, likely with a no-trade clause.
I would prefer Kipper as well. I like his consistency a lot better. It would be a good deal for both in my view. The untouchable young guy on the Caps (IMO) are:
Carlson
Alzner
Varlamov
Johansson
I would shop Beagle, Gordon, Perrault et al. because they are having good seasons and could potentially bring something nice back
A major deal that I would like to see the Caps make is moving (gasp) Semin at the deadline to someone who will sign him long term....OUT WEST. As far as I am concerned he is not a priority for resigning. I want to see the Caps resign Laich and work on a long term deal with Mike Green. Lock up the four young guys above and use that as your core going forward. Move Semin for patches for THIS year, such as a second line center and mean defenseman.
I don't understand why everyone in Washington isn't clamoring for this. He could fetch nice assets that the Caps need more than an inconsistent, soft but gifted forward.
