close

UCLA- I don't care if this new guy is the next Lebron James, UCLA has failed miserably with preseason expectations lately, so they're outside the top 25 for now.

Texas- after having a young team last year they should start to see some benefits this year

Arizona- another team that needs to prove it after failed expecations recently.

Memphis- same as UCLA and Arizona

Marquette- they should be solid but they lost some of their best players

St. Mary's
Alabama
Georgetown

Pitt- can't really see them being down for long

Providence- FRIARS!!!

Ohio- made the sweet 16 last year perhaps an encore is possible?

New Mexico
Xavier
Tennessee
Terps
Saint Louis

No Gamecocks? WTF? We lost to every team in the SEC last year, and there is no way that we can repeat that. Thus, we will be totally awesome next year. Fact.

for some reason when I saw you as the last poster I had a bad feeling...

screw the domers, took them out, moved Michigan down 4 and put North Carolina at 14.

Not a bad list, I'd replace butler with Providence, they have an insane recruiting class coming in and Butler isn't improved enough to crack the top 25 just yet. I think you also have to throw the Domers in the 20-25 range, Mike Brey is a great coach and they're pretty much a mainstay in that range...

IMO Tennessee should be somewhere between 20-25, very talented team that lost only 1 player from last years team that found their groove & confidence toward the end of the season. They have a very tough schedule this year though.

One poll has us #22. Can't remember who, or if is even worth a damn. Nice to know our team is getting some attention though. I think they have the potential to be very good this year. But their schedule is tough, like you said. They need to get off to a good start in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Iowa will be top 25 by year end. Loss of Gatens will hurt a bit but a top 15 class and another year of experience for all the other guys. Plus the schedule is insanely easy in the OOC. Not unrealistic to think Iowa could be 12-1 or 13-0 OOC. B10 will be brutal but I think 22-9, 23-8 is reasonable this year for the Hawks.

We likely have the best frontcourt in the SEC & top 5 in the nation w/ Maymon, Jarnell, Hall, & Makanjuola. I love that Zo is building this program on defense defense defense. We really started to lock people down at the end of the season last year once the team bought in. We need Golden to step up a little more & we really need to find someone to step up as a consistent scorer, Mcrae needs to be more consistent.

My expectations are us finishing in the Top 20, 1-3 in the SEC, advancing atleast to the SEC semi's, & getting to the Sweet 16.

Just like last year, the first 7 games of the B1G will tell where we're at. If we have a repeat of last season and go 4-3, we'll be in decent shape come March.

First 7 this year is even more brutal than last. 4-3 would be great but Id settle for 3-4.

You know UK plays in the SEC right? Finishing #1 in the SEC sounds unrealistic to me, although IU definitely could. :becky:

UK won't be as good as they have been the past 2 seasons, their still going to be good no doubt but they are beatable. Heck they almost lost in TBA last year. I think the top 4 teams in the SEC are Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, & Tennessee.

What about Florida? Donovan always has a good team down there.

They'll be good, but we have UF's # in basketball like they do us in Football. We beat them twice last year. Even the 2 years they won the National Title I think we beat them both times in the regular season.

Yeah we do have their number, for some reason. With the addidtion of Mizzou and A&M, don't we only play Florida once this year (home)?

Yea, we play UF & Mizzou once at home. We play A&M once on the road. We play UK & Vandy home/away.
