Why does Kyle always get away from the run? If Haslett returns next year I will be at a loss for words. This defense has been one of the worst for the past two years. Why is Mike married to the 34? It's going to cost him his job. I would love to see what Orakpo and Kerrigan could do at the ends with their ears pinned back. If you bring in a new DC it can't get any worse. If we had a D that was ranked at least 16th, we would probably be a 6-3 team. The special teams coach has to go as well. I tell Shanahan to fire Haslett and the ST coach or all of you are gone. I don't care what kind of run this team may go on. The defense needs whole sale changes from top to bottom. The DE's are terrible. I don't mind Shanahan. The offense is ranked 5th. What I do mind is he lets things get personal with some of his best players and he has a huge doghouse. Davis would have caught the pass the Paulson dropped. Shaking me head while saying Go Saints.

Haslett has a lot of explaining to do with last night performance. Rak and Kerrigan could not get pressure against a backup oline. Who is to blame here? I agree Haslett should of blitzed the crap out of Ponder. His gameplan was down right awful last night. But no one stepped up as far as the players were concerned. I thought they did a decent job against Peterson but you cant make Ponder do that to you.

Horrible loss. Also, kbso83432 you cant expect to win games when only scoring 3 points in the whole 2nd half. It was a group collapse not just he defense.

I think they could have scored more in the 2nd half if they had kept feeding Morris and Helu. That was keeping the Vikings off the field. Need Byrd and Browner in FA. I'd spend a 2nd on a WR. Look what the kid from Baylor is doing in Dallas.

Its the Oline. I would try Lebrius and Gettis to see what they can give us.

I have thought of that. Morris is gashing people. Do you risk losing that for interior pass pro?

The problem is the Monty, Litch, and Chester are all signed thru 2015 for cheap money. What was the point of drafting Lebribus in the 3rd round then the next year they gave Litch a contract extension?

On the defense side how can you give Rak a new contract when he is just an average player?

Rak has played better this year. Still gets lost in pass coverage. He's a DE. Depends on what he ask for.

That was the worst oline that we are going to see all year. only one sack from rak and Kerrigan. cmon. he is not making the impact at all this year. Rob Jackson had a bigger impact last year. Its the truth.

True. We are going to lose Jackson too if we resign Rak. Get someone in here to run a cover 2, move Rak and Kerrigan to DE and let Jackson start at OLB. You are right though, Jackson was more solid and dependable last year. I still wouldn't gve up on Rak though. We have to start getting some return on our #1's. I don't want to see us do to Rak what we did to Rogers and landry. Both have shined since they left here. What would this D look like with those 2 back there, instead of Wilson and Reed?

If you looking for a defensive philoshy change then you must want Raheem Morris as our d-coordinator. If they do fire hasslet, I think they would hire internally and Morris looks like the candidate. Jackson is a FA next year he is probably gone. Especially with the drafting of Jenkins. Rak is going to want huge money. I don't think he is worth it right now. He is going to want 7-9 mil a year. that is crazy.

That's a lot for Rak. I don't want Morris either. This D needs a new face, voice, and philosophy.

He is going to ask for Clay Matthews type money and he is not half the player. I don't know about scrapping the 3-4. There are some games that the defense played very well in, you cant argue that.

30th or lower in almost every category. Shanahan inherited a top 10 defense when he came here. Mind boggling.

True but the inept offense at the beginning of the year contributed to that ranking.

They were bad last year dean, and the offense was elite last year.

I wouldn't say elite. During the 7 game win streak our defense caused turnovers. haslet was blitzing on every play and it worked. he is playing a lot more zone this year and I don't know why.

Right. I don't know why either. What we are doing is obviously not working. Much improved from week one and two, but we just made ponder and mccown look like pro bowlers.

right b/c he doesn't send pressure. maybe he thought rak and Kerrigan would have gotten pressure with just a 4 man rush. lol. wow was he mistaken.

Bottom line is that Haslett has to go. That is, unless we are satisfied with, at worst a 32nd ranked D, and at best a 22nd ranked D. That's what he brings to the table.

So who do you replace him with? I can't see Raheem taking over, he hasn't done squat with the secondary the last 2 years.
