Disagree..despite a rematch I think a LSU-'Bama would draw huge ratings and even though the first game was a bit of a dud everyone would still watch. Plus the BCS is on the SEC's sack so hard they may have blue-balls once its all said and done...IMO they would HATE putting a VT vs. LSU..They wouldn't give us a chance. The line would be 10+. Okie St. on the other hand may get past IF they beat their rivals.

The extra time to prepare for Bama, the one less game Bama has to play, less chances to get hurt, etc.

How can you look at an LSU/Bama rematch and think it would be that fair to LSU? Especially since LSU won game 1 at Alabama. Then you are going to pit these two in the biggest game of them all and basically give the Tide the advantage with playing 1 less game, 1 more week to rest and prepare? not that fair for the Tigers.

Is it the fans fault that the team doesn't close out? This is what fans do. They dream big. It's not our fault the coaches do not have the team focused 100% of the time. Do you think Alabama or LSU fans were not thinking of a MNC in the first week of the season? It's more fun to think of scenarios for the team to play in the best game possible. We just need our team to win games it should.

Clemson was the best team on our schedule, who thumped us, and now they look very medicore. We have to be big Clemson and GT fans this weekend if we want anything to do with the MNC.

Agree 100%. We all like to dream big and it gives us something to talk about. I think most of us realize that it is a VERY long shot at best, but as we saw last weekend, anything is possible. I think the coaches and players are smart enough to understand and realize this and if they are thinking NCG then they are way out of wack. I would be more worried about a possible let down if we were sitting a little bit higher in the BCS (say LSU, OKSt, VT 1,2,3). Winning this weekend and the ACCCG takes priority of course and it all means nothing if we don't win those games. Our guys will hopefully go out and take care of business and let the cards fall where they may. Vt will be focused and motivated for this game. Our coaches will have them ready mentally I believe.

But its still nice to dream..

Somewhat OT--remember Tennessee flopping in the SECCG in '98. Without that loss where would VT be today in the media's eyes (w/out at least the NCG appearance)?? We have won ALOT of games since then but I would think that game garnered some respect and attention to our program which affected recruiting, donations, etc..
