1. None of our games have been "fun" this year. Every single game has been "grind it out" and frustrating. Not many of the players look like they're enjoying it either. Not the post SB year I expected at all.
2. Our O PPG (22) and D PPG (20) Are right back where they were in 2016. Inexcusible considering the talent on the squad has improved.
3. We're forcing less than a turn over per game.
4. Schwartz D may not give up a lot of points, but he's got to go. I didn't like him in '16. the O hid his D in '17 and with us playing like 2016 (in some cases worse), I would not be sad to see him go. He's just not aggressive enough for the talent we came into the season with. QB's should be scared of our DL. Butinstead of the DL eating QBs for lunch, the QBs are eating massive yards on 3rd & 4th and long.
5. In that same vein, remember the buzz coming in about Fletcher Cox chasing DPOY? Forget about it. Maybe when we get a real DC, he'll have a real shot. Todd Bowles will probably be available. So is Spags. I might give McDermott a 2nd chance when he becomes available.
6. Injuries aren't an excuse for our struggles. We had as many last year.
7. Said it in the game thread and somebody in the media is finally picking it up Wentz throws don't allow WRs to get ANY YAC EVER. To make a catch Receivers have to dive or fall down a lot, reminding me of McNabb. At the same time, Wentz is often throwing to guys that are blanketed. We almost never have guys wide open. I expected different with the addition of Tate last night. Also Carson is now 1-9 when he has the ball last with a chance to win or tie. The 1 win was vs The Giants and the 61 yd FG. Wentz did make an incredible throw to Alshon to set that up.
8. Bruce Arians is sitting at home saying the Browns HC is the only job he'd come out of retirement for. This signals to me he's not really retired. I wonder what it would take to bring him in here as OC. He'd have way less responsibility and stress on him. Arians was who i wanted when we got Doug.
9. Doug's presser last night unnerved me. He looked lost and confused and without any answers.
10. I thought i remembered Wentz audibling a lot last year, especially on 3rd down...so much so it led to speculation as to whether or not Dougs play calls were actually any good. I don't see wentz audible much. He clearly should have on that one 4th and inches play where we ran. It looked awful from the time they broke the huddle.
Bonus: Its a good thing we chip'd last year. I'd be way more upset and calling for Dougs head if we didn't.
