Ouch... how old is your son that he dropped money on active pickups?

He got it from my wifes dad..
His grandpa gave him that Fender, Epiphone Les Paul 100, Kramer Strat and a Yamaha Accoustic.
He's also got a Dean Flying V and an Ibinez Accoustic/electric that he got new..
Nothing fancy, but they all sound good.

He's 15 now, but he started getting them when he was about 10.

Ah ok, I was going to say, that seems like a waste on someone who's probably under 18. If he's been playing for 5 years that's a different story... tell him if he really wants to get good he should learn music theory.
