yes
that there are old fogeys on the course who need to learn to have fun.
I do to an extent...and there we are. You already know that you annoy others on the course. You don't care that you do.
You could also go play music while deer hunting with a camo model.I did not.
the camo one was just on sale.
when I play music I try to find something that everyone in my group is going to like...which isn't always easy.Bumping this one.
My buddy asked me to sub for his friend in the league last night. No problem, he's an acquaintance and a good guy.
On the first hole he asked me if I'd mind him playing music. The moment he asked, he cast me into one of two undesirable positions. I have to either listen to annoying music the whole round or be the kill joy for the entire round. I had to be honest and go with option #1 but then all night I noticed the silence and felt a tad guilty.
If I take a phone call in the clubhouse, I'm expected to take the call outside. In fact this is common practice at our private club. The idea is that you're creating noise pollution that others shouldn't be subjected to. Well what's the difference between the two? Why can't I just claim that I always talk quietly and if someone asks me to, I'll take it outside? Why doesn't that same sort of excuse apply?
If it's not ok to force your noise on others in the restaurant, it shouldn't be any different out on the course.

nah, fuck them.Yeah, especially when you add in all the groups you'll pass and play adjacent to who also have to hear it.
nah, fuck them.
I do usually push pause when I am in an area with other groups...or if I am waiting for a group in front of me to tee off because they are slow AF...I appreciate your honesty!
If someone on the next hole over can hear your music, its too loud.Yeah, especially when you add in all the groups you'll pass and play adjacent to who also have to hear it.
couple of the guys I play with go ballistic at any small "distraction" from their games... coming off years of playing "gotcha" golf I guess I'm inured to common noises... if anything, their touchiness is kind of distracting to my game.my best friend is a golf pro and he hates people talking to him when he shoots.
has always driven greg apeshit.even as a kid when he talked me into caddying for him.couple of the guys I play with go ballistic at any small "distraction" from their games... coming off years of playing "gotcha" golf I guess I'm inured to common noises... if anything, their touchiness is kind of distracting to my game.

But I am definitely pro music on the course.
