Completely forgot about Gamel's existence.

Mariners have kind of a logjam at OF right now with Haniger, Heredia, Span, Maybin and (maybe) Dee Gordon.

IMO I think Heredia needs to be in AAA more than Gamel.

with cano's return ...it just may happen...but i think they will give a week or so eval period..to see how it goes/or a few games at least


they will need them all if they do make the playoffs

Gordon in CF, Cano at 2B and Healy at 1B might give the Mariners a better lineup IMO.

If they commit to that, then they can send Heredia down, call up Gamel, then send Romine packing and call up a reliever.

But if Servais sticks Gordon back in CF, in a way it says Jerry made a mistake trading for Maybin instead of a pitcher.

I absolutely agree with that. Gamel, if played half ways consistently, can be a great offensive asset, plus he's got speed. Have always like Gamel's attitude and enthusiasm too.

before they did make a trade

and that might... signal(a trade )... as well...unless they did both at the same time...lol

why trade......they have braden bishop at AA..in a good position to be at AAA...next year

and ian miller has to go on the 40 man or be released..at the end of the year

I was kind of confused by the Maybin trade. Eventually Cano will need to be moved to first or DH, but before he left, he still looked like a league average/above average 2B in terms of defense. I figured maybe the Mariners could milk another year or two of Cano at 2B before moving him.

Right now I think the team has Gordon at CF, Cano at 2B and Healy at 1B. Although I will concede that the difference is minuscule between having Cano at 1B or 2B.

I've always been skeptical of Gamel and thought he would suffer a significant drop off in 2018, but so far he has proved me wrong.

I'm not a huge Maybin fan. He's 31 years old and his speed might be starting to diminish. Obviously I don't time him every time he runs, but his SB numbers are way down and he has been caught at a much higher rate than previously in his career.

Wouldn't be a fan of retaining him. Dee Gordon is under contract until 2020. Can move on from Maybin, put Gordon in at CF and worry about finding a long-term centerfielder later.

Defence..and a combo of offence....so #1 cano is gitting older and slower...typical 3B time for a second baseman
and the mariners could use a backup at first....so it fits...seager could be bench guy...if he cant hit

#2 gordan is a gold glove second baseman...who just happens to steal..a lot of bases...and his ave is good

#3 as stated...egg on face= no good=maybin

#4 seager's hiiting need's help...cano maybe able to keep up with seager...at #3B

#5 they could get..(fantasy trade) adam..frazier...trevor williams..from pittsburgh...for seager heredia

Ugh... Paxton goes down w/ injury... He got drilled in his forearm... Felix did say he'd be back in the starting rotation... Now he has his chance...

My guess is that Paxton broke a few bones because it swelled up instantly...
