In 4 years with us, Nelson Cruz hit 15 more homers on the road vs at home. About 4 a year difference. His last year he hit 5 more at home than on the road. My beef has always been we don't have legit home run hitters. Yes the park plays a part, but the hitters, or lack there of, play a bigger part. I posted before, our pitchers gave up 2 more home runs at home vs on the road last year. That should not be if the park is Death Valley.

We've talked about this for years though. If the front office wanted this to be a hitting town they could move the fences in and craft it how they want. They aren't forced to have the most pitching friendly park. It's a choice.

But the marine layer isn't causing them to lead the league in strikeouts.

Stop looking beyond the players they acquire to find why they struggle so much at the plate.

Thank god we picked up, Polanco, Garver and Urias... Only god knew that we needed a few more hitters below the Mendoza line... I wish we'd stop shopping at Target and shop at Nordstroms one of these days....

Side note, Mendoza was a Mariner at the time that phrase was coined. Bruce Bochte came up with it while they were both on the team.
