i see they used up their remaining quota of runs for july and most of august yesterday. still, i'm going to attempt to watch this weekend's games. haven't been interested since the first week of july because it was pretty clear this dogshit franchise was going straight down. and i don't think they've even come close to the lowest they can go.
the trades i've seen so far are a "fix" kind of like a band aid is a "fix" for a gsw to a major artery. this team will fight for that 3rd wild card and might even get it. if they do, it'll probably be the highest point this franchise will have for the next 10 years. this offseason is going to be a decimation of the roster. ownership sees nothing but $$$ signs in our MLB pitching and minor league prospects. they will fire dipoto or servais or both and claim it's time to "rebuild", and our "fan" base will eat it up as usual.
but i know the next couple of games have the most likelihood of seeing wins, so I'll watch.
It is only the 3rd inning and Polanco has had 2 balls go off his glove. One for a run. Not sure what kind of throw that was home from Moore. Runner is out if he throws it to the plate and not 3 feet to the 1B side of it.
But then he hits a homer right after and gets the run back.
