Kind of the entire problem with the Mariners. In Anaheim Jerry had people who had actually won arguing with him then and an owner who had zero budget. Stanton doesn’t know what it is to be a winner nor spending money on making the team better. The spending half a billion dollars is a great talking point but all of that they didn’t improve the team.

No idea about Hollander or whatever, but if Stanton and Co. are going to put a firm cap then they need to fill the FO with young and hungry guys who’s goal is to end up with one of the big market clubs. If you are going to run yourself as a stepping stone franchise then actually run it as a stepping stone franchise.

Jerry is in a perfect position. His "promotion" offered him a layer of protection so that when the Mariners miss the playoffs, if there is enough groaning for someone to be fired, it would be Hollander. Buckle up because I think Jerry will be running the show for a while.
