I didn’t watch the game yesterday but a lot of talk about this pinch hit for Luke.

I will always like Haniger but it’s time to put old yeller down. Canzone and Luke should own the corner outfield spots for now until we hopefully trade for a better solution. Hanger and Polanco shouldn’t see the field again with France close behind.

France is always a HPB away from another 15-day IL followed by a 2-35 slump. He was 5-38 after his most recent HBP-induced IL. But in the last three games he's looked like he might be getting his groove back. Not that it has been much of a groove the last season and a half.

Moore is way better than Haniger at this point. Moore has more extra-base hits, despite fewer plate appearances. And Moore's OPS is .725. Haniger is .614. Haniger is 33.5 years old. His rapidly eroding skills reflect his age. He has no more seasons like 2018 and 2021 left in him. The trade to bring Haniger back was a true Dipoto 54%er salary dump.

I believe I mentioned that on his last IL stint. Of course we had a 10 game lead back then. Save his body and limit his innings. It made too much sense I guess.
