I haven't been paying much attention to the standings, Seattle might be able to inch back into this somehow.

And another strike on a pitch in the next county by this chumpire as I type this.

There hasn't been much bitching and complaining lately... that's how you know they are inching there way back into an opportunity....

Only 3.5 back in the wc picture

And for once they are attacking a team ahead of them to get extra help in their effort to climb back in it.

Very true... One of the main reasons they've dug themselves into this hole...

Texas sure has been fading. I guess Clayton may have to change his tune on the Ms chances to catch them. They'll be easier to pass than Houston I think at this point.

Will be interesting to see if the Astros go after Sale.

I bet Cruz gets royally screwed with at least 1 pitch per at bat in every game. It seems like every time he's up to bat they call at least 1 pitch well off the plate and low a strike when it's not even close, you can tell he expects it by watching his reactions.

I absolutely cannot stand this major flaw in such a stat driven game that's completely ignored. Make the damn game fair.

The hall of fame stuff is live at mlb.com if anyone wants to see Griffey go in. He should be coming up soon I would imagine.

Its also on mlb network (which I don't have)

Griffey's speech was awesome. He had to hold back tears quite a few times, he also said Edgar belongs in the hall too.

Is there anywhere you can see it? I don't have the MLB channel, it's not up on their website or youtube. I'm not to familiar with all the websites kids use nowadays so there should be one somewhere.

Yeah, wish I could find the speech in its entirety. There are parts of it online, but haven't found the full thing.

I watched it all live on MLB Network. Both speeches were incredible, and I thought Piazza was particularly classy in tipping his cap to Junior at the onset. And none of us have seen that much raw emotion from Junior. At least not that kind. I thought I also heard that his speech was 24 minutes, which would be really cool if true. Inducted on the 24th....7/24, with 7 seasons of 40+ HRs. Glad he gave a clear if only brief plug for Edgar in the Hall. A little surprised he didn't say much specifically about Lou. I cannot wait to be in the stands with my son on the 6th to share in the moment and show my appreciation for the best player of my lifetime.

Thanks for the site Wiz,

I don't think Jr. Is just the best player in our lifetime. He is one of the best position players in history and definitely on Mt Rushmore. There was nothing he couldn't do and had he not gave it 100% in the Kingdome his HR numbers would've been on touchable. Not many players can say they saved a franchise and Babe Ruth is about the only guy I could think of that made baseball cool and created baseball fans out of thin air.
