Watching Julio and Kelenic game to game and at bat to at bat it is so apparent who is blessed with big league talent and who is having fun playing the game.

Kelenic is not necessarily a 'bust' IMO .... BUT he needs a serious intervention of a head shrink and / or a mythical batting - swing coach @ this point.
I think they keep pushing him out there for the next month or 2 to get a greater sampling size of what they truly have. Maybe the light comes on and he gets his average up to .225ish and gets his K rate down to 20% and is not a liability in the lineup the way he is now. Whoever bats in front of Kelenic in the lineup is going to rarely see any hittable pitches due to the other team wanting Kelenic standing in the box to strike him out.

He may not be a BUST but right now he is a solid BUS_*
Bringing this conversation here.

Good points. I look at Kelenic as a guy who will blow your fucking mind in batting practice and against minor league pitching, but doesn't seem able to hit major league hitting.

Are the Mariners really gonna get shutout in Houston again? This is starting to get depressing.

It's what they do best. Show up with as little as possible, and have fewer hits than an '80s synth band.

I should know about that; Alphaville's been a main favorite.

I can handle losing. Even streaks. It's these long spells of anemic hitting that just wears you down.

And that one's done. Only four hits in a 4-0 loss.

Dusty Baker's 2000th win...no wonder we decided not to play tonight.

He's about to get 2001 tomorrow...GOTTA GET SWEPT SWEPT SWEPT!

Told ya...2019 all over again.

The bottoming out is happening, proving last year's late run to be nothing more than a fluke.

The most underachieving team in the Majors...and apparently proud of it.

I agree

How can a ball team not manufacture 1 single run in 18 innings ?

Getting to the point I may start to fast forward thru all Kelenic at bats. How does he continue to hit weak infield dribblers 60-90 feet when he is in a hitters count of 2-0 or 3-1 sittin' dead red fast ball, looking for a pitch to drive somewhere ? Referring to his last ab in the 9th I think with a runner on 1st and 1 or 2 outs and he has a 3-0 count. Takes a strike fastball to get to 3-1 ( no way he has the green lite to swing 3-0 ) then the very next pitch he hits a little league 5mph infield squibbler to the 1st basemen that never made it 80 feet and end of game - 3 outs. The night before he hit the exact same weak ass ground ball in a crucial at bat - same scenario - same exact result 5mph squibbler the pitcher fielded ( crushed it 55 feet - hahaha )

I think he may be a career below Mendoza line hitter no matter how long he plays in the bigs.

And Suarez ( our clean up hitter ) batting barely .210 that swings for the fences every hack, when a simple base hit will plate a run.

And who the hell are we sending to the mound in relief wearing pimped out multiple fat gold chains around his neck and OUTSIDE his jersey who walks everyone and got lucky on the absolute seed someone hit right at Julio in center. Castillo ? Management has got to tell him to leave his Mr T starter kit jewelry in his locker for the post game club scene. That looks ridiculous and totally inappropriate. Everyone on the field is a multi millionaire ... who is he trying to impress ??

Week or so ago I thought we had us a ball club - now not so much ( but it's still early )

Finally a game that I can watch because it won't be starting in the middle of the night over here. Not sure if I should be taking up position behind the sofa.
