Never even thought to look because I never thought I'd see it, but Oakland's 2021 payroll is actually higher than Seattle's. These owners are actually cheaper than Nintendo.
Nintendo really wasn't cheap nor did they have any say in day-to-day operations which is ironic that are best years were with an ownership that didn't have control over their own team.Never even thought to look because I never thought I'd see it, but Oakland's 2021 payroll is actually higher than Seattle's. It is unsung what the Rays GM is doing. This man has built an awesome team with 60 mil on the budget and has the best prospect in all of baseball in Wander Franco. This man should hold Baseball GM summits or something this is probably every owners dream GM. They would trade winning championships at a 60 mil payroll but still have an awesome team than a team like the LA Dodgers that won a chip but has a pay roll of 260 millionNon Mariners news, but needed to add a little salt to our wounds.
Back-to-back wins over Oakland??
What matter of sorcery is this?!
Ownership knows there is no rebuild happening. Rebuild is only used to keep the fans interested. There is no such thing as a rebuild. You are either trying to build a winner or you are only concerned about the money. Marketing at its best.I'm just wondering how many seasons it will take before ownership realizes this so called "rebuild" isn't happening and decide to shit-can JD and his sidekick...or if they even care?
#SEAUSRISEOwnership wants to sell us on a pro team as we watch bullpen start number whatever with our non-prospect infielder playing outfield for his first time while trying to sweep the division rivals. I guess we didn't throw out the double catcher lineup finally.
So remind me again how we are only a year away from contending? No dominant SP, a bullpen that is meh, and a lineup that has more holes I it than Swiss cheese and we have maybe, and I mean maybe, 3 potential hitters who can contribute at a major league level that trickle through in the next 3 years. Add to the fact that of our current few major league hitters, Haniger and Seager could easily be gone in 2 to 3 years.
Sorry, I am banging my drum on this more than that annoying drum banging in Oakland.
