Didn't Michigan have a few seasons where they scored over 100 points in most of their games? Like 1900-02.

What about John Woodens UCLA team of 60s and 70s???? They won 10 championships in 12 yrs, and won 7 in a row!!! They also won like 90 games in a row. Greatest decade team ever in college sports history!

Iowa wrestling won 9 straight NCAA titles in the 80s with Dan Gable as head coach.

As a head coach, Gable went 355-21-5 (.9318) which included 15 NCAA titles and 21 straight Big Ten titles in 21 seasons.

'76 IU Hoosiers beat Kentucky, UCLA twice(once in the Final Four), and Michigan 3 times including in the championship game on their way to most likely the last ever undefeated season in NCAA Men's basketball. I'm not sure you can name a better team.

Aside from the absurdness of an UO team that hasn't even finished the season being on the list, the 1990 Washington Huskies' team needed a 5th down to win a championship; you're only allowed 4. :noidea:

Ok I got one, maybe not most talented team or even most NFL stars. But I believe that beat a Miami Hurricanes team that had a future NFL star at just about every position defense and offense. Undefeated Ohio State 2002-03 team that beat Miami in 2OT to win it. U probably dont know many on OSU but here is Miami roster, STACKED!

I was thinking the same thing when I opened this thread. That streak will never again be repeated in men's major college sports. I know that Iowa's wrestling team had that long streak, but it isn't considered a national revenue generating sport. I could see it being done in women's basketball, but these streaks really only come when only a few teams across the country can hoard talent. In this era, it is extremely difficult to maintain that recruiting for so long.

For college football, I would put Michigan under Fielding Yost from 1901-05.

1901: 11-0 (outscored opponents 555-0)
1902: 11-0 (644-12)
1903: 11-0-1 (565-6)
1904: 10-0 (567-18)
1905: 12-1 (495-2)

From 1901-1905, Michigan went 55-1-1 and outscored their opponents 3,321-38.

I would say that's pretty dominant.

Well when your opponents are of the like of Physicians and Surgeons College yeah. Really, they won most of those games because the other schools were barely bigger than high schools.

And Michigan at the time was probably no bigger than what a NAIA college is now.

What other programs during that time didn't play physicians and surgeons college? Why didn't they average nearly 60-1 (less than 1 actually)?

So who beat them 2-0 in 1905?

Chicago. Last game of the season. Chicago went undefeated that year.

I904, Michigan got 2nd in the Big Ten. Minnesota also went undefeated with 3 more games (1 more Big Ten game).
