Guys named Fielder, twice. Kind of weird that two guys named Fielder could both hit but neither one could field.

Who was the last Pittsburgh Pirate to hit 40 or more homeruns? Bonus, what year did he do it?

I was thinking Cutch. Was also thinking maybe Bonilla. I knew Bonds was more of an all around player during his Pit days…

Yeah I did a quiz with all the teams last 40 hr season and they were all way into the 21st century but Pitt, which stuck out like a sore thumb with 1973. PNC park really isn't friendly to HR hitters. Remember Jose Bautista maxed out at about 20 homers there then went to Toronto and hit 40 or 50 a couple times.

I remember seeing something about it only being Stargell and Kiner. Was guessing on the year and hoping it hadn't changed.

Yeah I think you're right, they are the only ones to do it. Kiner did it at Forbes Field, which was huge.

3-Rivers was a typical 70s stadium as well, iirc.
Yeah the NL had several of those cookie cutter multi sport astro turf stadiums. They weren't crazy hard to hit home runs in like some of the real old parks but they were built more for speed. I remember the Cardinals and the Astros were really good at building their team around the way the stadium played. They could have 5 guys with 20 or more stolen bases.

Actually I just looked up 1985 Cardinals. 314 SBs. And that is with smaller bases! (Also 87 home runs, slightly more than Bonds that one year.)

They also had the most backflips by an infielder.

Which team was the first to have all 9 starting players be black or Latino? Bonus points for what year.

For this question they had a few black and Latino pitchers, they had a couple white ones too, and some white bench guys.

Guess I got the franchise right. But Idk how many guys were still on the team I was thinking of.
Stargell obviously. I wouldn't know the others from 1979 that were on both, Dave Parker obviously wasn't on the team in 1971.
