Far less price??? I don't think so. We are most likely saddled with $42M over the next 2 years in dead cap space and no QB. How is that a far less price?
84? On cousins

Also can’t predict injury obviously if u knew he would get hurt u don’t make the move......

With a 35 year old QB? Injury is quite predictable, I would say.

We this is a pointless argument. I’m assuming at the trade u stated they shouldn’t of traded for him due to inevitable career ending injury correct?

Let me ask you - what hope do you have that this team will be on the correct path say 2-3 years from now?

In its current power structure of Snyder and Allen.

Our best hope imo is when the Skins either fire Gruden to hire another HC. Or set their sights on a QB. That when they make the decision to hire a new HC or draft a a QB. It's a blind squirrel finding a nut moment for us. That said HC or QB will be a strong enough transformative figure to combat and defeat the culture of backstabbing, bullshit, stupidity and ass backwardness. That seems to take delight in coming up with new ways to annually make Snyder and Allen look like buffoons.

That's what I'm left with.

SO i frequent this board periodically. I also am guessing there is a huge cousins controversy.
Who does this board think was better for the team

Cousins or Smith
CONTRACTS INCLUDED

Does this start this year due to both going to new teams. Or can we step back in time a bit. As to apply the almost 44 million Snyder and Allen's dumb asses foolishly paid Cuz to be a two year rental?

Whether we can or not though. I'd take Kirk w/o blinking an eye.

No. I said not to trade for him because he is 35, on the downside of his career, and is not that good. But why give a 35 year old a guaranteed contract if injured. That’s like giving a 90 year old a life insurance policy.

It’s comparable to buying a clunker of a car on a loan. Sure, you saved immediate money, but when the car dies, what do have? A car payment and no car. How is that a better deal?

Well u could pay 84 for a qb who can’t beat a winning team. And has proven it over 6-7 years

Great correlation.

Did we have a pro bowl rb without him?

U truly have that little analysis of the Steelers to think that?

Or we can watch CDC not beat a winning team either
Well yeah beat the cowboys before they were good.

I guess my point is smith is a bridge gap. Cousins would have crippled you for years.

That is a way over simplification of Cousins. I'd take 3500-4000 yards a year with 20+ TDs and 10 INTs every day. If he were here with Peterson this year, no telling what that offense would have done. Maybe our defense wouldn't have broken down if they weren't always having to pitch a shut out just to stay in the game. Oh yeah, in 3 years, $84M will be nothing. There will be 8-10 QBs paid more than him.

It’s not an over simplification, it’s proven and advanced analytics are not kind to him at all. Stats are stats. Ben through for 5000 yards this year, who cares???? We’re sitting at home. When it mattered we didn’t get it done. Saying 20 tds and 10 picks is also an oversimplification.
And yes I’m 3-4 years it will be but that’s 3-4 years from now, that’s an entire contract.

Dude, I watched every game KC played for 3 years as a starter here. He will never be a top 5, but he is a good QB that has NEVER had a supporting cast, which he needs. Apparently even Ben needs one. Cousins did not have one, apparently, this year either. That team was a dysfunction since training camp, with the HC and OC at odds, then significant injuries. He is as good as Eli and Flacco and they both have rings. He was not this team's problem.

Mark my words, Cousins will get to the playoffs before Alex Smith does again, even if he wasn't injured. Alex is weak. Real weak. Any success that he has had is a direct result of his teammates and his coach. He was actually a drag on the success we did have early.

At least you have an opening to move on with a young QB. The Vikings are stuck with garbage for the next 4 (?) years. The Vikings should be more pissed imo.

I would hope cousins gets there before smith, smith may never play again. But ok.

The point is they don’t think Kirk is garbage, they really wanted to keep him...

answer the question how many times did the steelers go to the playoffs with Leveon Bell as their starting RB???? I don't want to hear about james conner making the pro bowl and no he did not have a better season this year than Bell did and he is not on the same level as Bell
