The difference with Mike Piazza is that there never was any real hard evidence, like there was with Bonds, McGuire, or Palmiero, or even any shady, circumstantial evidence like with Clemens. Just some random "backne" accusations

I understand and agree there, but still, there is speculation, so I'm considering (maybe hoping) that his inclusion is a sign of voters coming to terms with the whole PED issue. Probably not, though. Bunch of crusty old fucks saying "if Rose isn't in, neither is Bonds," even though the two situations are completely different.

No. In fact -- and this would make a cool trivia question -- Griffey Jr and Piazza are respectively the highest and lowest drafted HOFers, and they were inducted in the same class. Kinda cool.
