MLB's total player payroll is a staggering $4.3B.

I just want to write that out for effect.

Four billion, two hundred seventy-three million, six thousand, three hundred and one dollars.

I'm hearing that too. I've also heard they're interested in Lucroy.

I think Dolan (Indians' owner) saw what happened in Cleveland when the Cavs won and realizes that he's got to put a winner on the field. The time is now. Measured by run differential, the indians are head and shoulders above the rest of the AL right now.

and players are still falling behind:suds:

Since 1995, MLB’s overall league revenues have increased nearly 650%, going from around $1.4 billion to over $9 billion in 2014. During that same time period, though, MLB payrolls have only increased by around 378%, from roughly $925 million in 1995 to just under $3.5 billion last year.

At first glance, an increase of $2.5 billion in annual salary divided among roughly 1,200 players doesn’t sound that bad. We should all be so lucky. But as the following chart shows, viewed as a percentage of overall league revenues, players’ salaries have been decreasing at a rather startling rate

NICE, MAN!

You are the only "civilian" I've ever seen reference that idea other than myself.

I heerd that the Barves (and the Falcons, too) will be offering reasonably-priced concessions at their new park(s) as a way to attract fans to the new location(s). Not sure it will last for more than a couple of seasons, but good on 'em, anyway

If the current falcons fans can't be enticed to the new stadium which is essentially right next door to the old ....well then obesity in Atlanta has gotten alot worse than when I left

I'm not a fan of limits on bullpen changes. I'm all for no more intentional walks/pitch clock
