We will be young next season for sure. 4 out of our first five will need to start day Se first five picks have to be OT, DE, IOL, IOL, and LB in no particular order.
They will draft a QB first.

It is possible they might draft a first round QB. They have some ammunition now to help move up. They still need to improve the OL no matter who is at QB.

Pennix Jr is the next big qb in the nfl.

He is reminds me of a combo of Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.

Of course...he will go to someone else...lol

Maybe our new GM finds a way to figure it out.

Can't wait to see the new GM get this all put together. I've got a good feeling about it.

I really must say a few things about Howell at this point because, despite the fact that I believe that the new ownership group will be seeking a complete reset, Howell has earned my respect considering his final season at Carolina in which everyone on his offensive team returned or improved despite the loss of two, thousand-yard running backs.

There's definitely going to be a rebuild and if Washington holds to current NFL standards, the fruits of that rebuild will be clearly notable in year two (2025) Unfortunately for Howell, the timing of that rebuild puts him in line to get that top end QB contract and I just don't see this team reshaping the entire franchise and having to dedicate major monies to their QB that early in the process.

Howell now finds himself in a time quandary because of the pending rebuild. Will they hold on to him? I doubt it, primarily because there are too many factors working against his staying. That said, he will find employment in the NFL, as a starter because his current resume' demands it and Washington would be wise to use that value to further bolster their franchise's SB aspirations.

Bears EDGE Montez Sweat said, “I just want to consider everything around me before I make a decision,” when questioned about a potential long-term extension with the the team.
The Bears gave up a 2024 second-round pick at the deadline to acquire Sweat from the Commanders. With no extension in place with Sweat prior to the trade, the Bears have little leverage in negotiating with him at this time. It doesn’t help that the team is currently 2-6, and jockeying for a top five pick in next year’s draft. Sweat spent five seasons with the Commanders, who made one playoff appearance during his tenure while going 38-55-1 in the regular season. Currently on pace for a career-high 14 sacks, the veteran EDGE will be in line for a big pay day heading into next offseason. It’s possible Sweat looks to “secure the bag” while also joining a team he thinks could make the playoffs some time in the near future. Failure to secure a long-term deal could result in the Bears franchise tagging Sweat, which could complicate the situation even further.

That would be funny if Sweat doenst sign long term with the Bears.

What would be truly funny is a new management team here re-signing him for far less than the going NFL rate, and subsequently trading him, once again, to the Falcons fore more draft picks.

So he cost 25 mil a yr, cy will go about the same so it would take 50 mil off 100 mil in cap space meaning as I said from the beginning they team could in fact keep all of them if they wanted too

I brought up the cap 3yrs ago and my projections were also right

Now you can argue it would have been dumb , you can argue that it’s too much to pay for a d/line group and that is fine and fair

You can’t argue it wasnt affordable. It was but it was in fact a choice as I said 3 yrs ago
