Detroit is currently the 5 seed. Unless they win tomorrow.

This isn’t apples to apples.

How many times does it have to be said? THE GAME TOMORROW IS MEANINGLESS.

Lions win tomorrow, still have to win next week for the 1 seed. Lions lose tomorrow, still get the 1 seed if they win next week. Tomorrow means nothing.

It's exactly like how the Chiefs game next week means nothing to them. Everyone is assuming the Broncos will benefit from the Chiefs resting guys next week...my question is if the Lions shouldn't rest guys, why should the Chiefs?

Yeah, if they lose to MN they’re a wildcard. But they don’t have win against MN if they win tomorrow. They’d only need to tie.

I'm honestly not trying to seem like a prick towards Lions fans when I say this, but the only reason I can come up with for why they think they should go all-out to beat San Fran at any cost is because they aren't very used to this type of regular season success. If the roles were reversed with the Vikings being the ones to play a now meaingless game before the Vikes/Lions showdown finale, I'd be pissed if the Vikings played the starters for more than the first quarter or perhaps half of the meaningless games. There is merit to not resting them for the full game to prevent rust, but there is no reason they should treat it like a can't-lose game.


edit: so this all hinges on the Lions fans thinking the Vikes/Lions finale might end in a tied game? Just wow lol. There hasn't been a tied game since 2022....
