Go Brewers
Bye bye New York.
Go Brewers

Spiderman approves this post.
And for not subbing Haase for a hobbling Contreras. The baseball gods had to punish the Brewers for leaving Bryan Hudson off the postseason roster.
LOL at the NL "West" back then...SF, SD, LA, Houston ok fine. Then also Cincinnatti and Atlanta wtf? I guess Atlanta moved down from Milwaukee soListening to sports radio this afternoon one of the guys brought up a good point. 1969 was the first year of the division format in the majors. Before that, it was simply the top team in each league at season's end that would meet in the World Series. In 1968 it was DET (103-59) vs STL (97-65). The Tigers and Cardinals won their league by 12 and 9 games, respectively. No drama whatsoever. The World Series teams could be determined with a month still to play in the regular season. After that, the four division winners made up the LCSs. That left a lot to be desired as well.
In 1993, SF (103-59) finished 2nd to ATL (104-58) in the NL West. The Giants had the 2nd best record in MLB and DNQ for the playoffs. A 4-team league playoff would've looked like this...
AL
(1)*TOR (95-67) vs (4)TEX (86-76)
(2)*CHW (94-68) vs (3)NYY (88-74)
NL
(1)*ATL (104-58) vs (4)MTL (94-68)
(2)SF (103-59) vs (3)*PHI (97-65)
*division winner
The following season (1994) they went to 3 divisions in each league.
"How about that?" -- Mel Allen.
They willTop of the order. They can't go down softly like that last game against the douchebacks last year.
