Damn Ryne Sandberg was my next pick. Nice pick Ritz!
There are a lot of really good guys that haven't been picked though. Mussina was good, but even with 10 teams, you'd have tobe one of the 50 best starters EVER to crack . Is he that? No way IMOPretty absurd that Mike Mussina has never been picked in our drafts before. What an underrated pitcher. He can make a damn good HOF case considering he pitched his entire career in the AL East in horrible pitchers parks in the height of the steroid era.

I don't know why I thought I could wait on Mussina, nice pick 500. A guy doesn't have to be top 50, sometimes our rules make it impossible to actually draft the best 50 starters. I ain't sure he's never been drafted before I actually think he has...
I did text Smitty.
You're right on his numbers, he is probably top 50. I guess my deal is, if you go through every starting pitcher in the mocks, there was at least one year in nearly all their careers when they were considered the #1 best pitcher in the game. Moose was consistent, but I don't remember that for himHe's 18th all time in pitching WAR and 270 wins. I have all the love for Andy Pettitte obviously as a Yankees fan but he gets picked every time and Mussina was the better pitcher. Probably could come up with more if I looked harder
Mussina much better than Petite imo. But people reach for lefties. He's 18th all time in pitching WAR and 270 wins. I have all the love for Andy Pettitte obviously as a Yankees fan but he gets picked every time and Mussina was the better pitcher. Probably could come up with more if I looked harder

I think both are pretty close but when you take into account Andy being a lefty that's why he is always selected. There isn't a huge list of great left handed pitchers like there is with righties.
