who cares if it goes out of bounds, or goes past a player... both situations are not worse than the opposing team recovering... the point is, you want to give your team best opportunity to get the ball back, what is better than a ball that is impossible to catch...

You do know how far apart the teams are on a kickoff right?

Well OOB is the same as the opponent recovering and past means you have to go farther to recover it.


I really just want kickoffs to be replaced with 4th and 15 punts. You punt it away or go for it.

Seems like they might just get rid of kickoffs all together... Which kinda sucks but when you have body builders running olympic speed at each other it just might be a good idea.

This is a surprise onside, so it works more due to the surprise nature of the play than just good design. Having the guys ready for the ball changes things as the ball will arrive at the front line of defenders before the coverage team even has much of a chance to get started. The ball on this play hits the player in less than a second, if he's ready for it it's not much different than catching a hard thrown pass. Besides, that play isn't even legal in the NFL anymore, coverage teams can't get a running start.

Almost took Dellin but needed a Lefty ARm in the Pen, and RHodes numbers look pretty good once you take out the atrocious 4-5 years of Starting.

I know I believe Oregon used this on a surprise onside as well' But you have to admit its definitely amusing

I can see it both ways tho. Miss it and its OB,or in the middle of the field.

But at the same time nothing to lose really onsides are always hit and miss. Seeing dome teams just let it rip could be fun imo
