I particularly enjoy : To determine whether to challenge a play, personnel in the dugout will be permitted to communicate with a video specialist in the Clubhouse who has access to the same video that is available to Replay Officials. This communication will occur via the dugout phone.

There has always been the debate on how to speed the game up because it is too long. I personally don't think they are too long but a majority of everyone else feels that way. How is expanded replay going to speed things up?

I am not thrilled about this and doubt I ever will be. I have always enjoyed the human element whether positive or negative for my team and this takes something away from that.

Guess we will just see how it works out.

The point of instant replay isn't to speed up the game; it's to get the calls right.

I love this new rule.

Teams improve facilities and get better equipment to assist the players in doing their jobs.

TV networks (allegedly) hire knowledgeable broadcasters and invest in better cameras to improve the viewing experience of the fans.

But they will not allow umpires/refs/officials to use existing camera angles to assist them in getting the calls right?

That does not make sense.

These are good changes (that will clearly need to be tweaked in the future) that the game has needed for a long time.

ONE 'review' call per game per manager isn't going to slow the game down much. Even if the manager is right the first time, the max is TWO calls per manager. And if the umps decide to review a play on their own, don't you think it's worth-while to get it right? Like that perfect game blown not too long ago by a bad call on out 26 or 27? (Even though a manager wouldn't have been able to call 'review' in that case?)
