Was he a bit overworked heading into the break, or just because he's a bit older were you hoping for him to get a good rest out of the all star break?

Most of the Ranger bullpen was worked a bunch in the first half with the injuries to most of the starting pitching and rookies struggling to go later in games. Joe will be fine, just thinking any extra rest couldn't hurt.

It actually worked out well to allow him to receive it. Who else would you give it to? Miggy with a double to score the first run? Bautista with his sac fly to score the first run? Sale with the W? I don't see a problem with it.
