Makes sense I guess. If somebody blows the lead in the 8th then bring Rivera in to finish the 8th. I disagree with all of this.

The cynical part of me says the network wanted to get a Mariano sighting in before 11 pm EST.

I doubt many people would turn the TV off knowing Mo was pitching the 9th regardless of the time.
