The Los Angeles Trouts of Anaheim basically. Especially without Ohtani and Simmons

I think one thing that gets overlooked is how insanely fit Trout is...I see little snippets from his workouts and he is super strong as well as being amazingly agile. He's like Mickey Mantle without the destroyed legs, alcoholism, indifference to exercise, totally reckless approach to life...er, well, maybe he isn't so much like Mantle.

Being with the Angels helps keep him from being a LeBron/Gretzky type figure in baseball, but I think the main issue is his personality. He doesn't have much to say, doesn't really have a style, isn't seen out on the town with supermodels, doesn't play to the crowd, and just seems kind of like a boring guy who is 100% focused on playing baseball outstandingly well. It's sort of like how everybody focused on Mantle and Mays in the '50s and '60s and then got to the early '70s and said, "Damn, this quiet guy named Aaron has 700 home runs!!!"

At least the Simmons injury doesn't look too serious.

On a side note, Simmons has struck out 4.1% of the time season. That's 10 strikeouts in 244 PA. That's pretty incredible.

Trout now up to .310/.438/.682 with a 202 wRC+. Leads the league in WAR by more than a full win (5.6 to 4.4 by Jose Ramirez and Mookie's 4.2 WAR).

I hope the Giants can trade Brandon Belt for him. I'll throw in Samardjiza and Tyler Beede, Angels need pitching.

But seriously it's a damn waste having that talent on that shitty team and missing the playoffs every year. The commish should force Moreno to trade him somewhere in contention. It don't even need to be the Giants, it just can't be the Dodgers.
