When does common sense prevail and we rightfully give him the MVP again?

he's missed about 40 games. He's been the best hitter in the league by far, but right now it's hard to ignore him missing a good chunk of the season.

Yeah forsure. I more mean if he finishes this year as the clear top hitter

Isn't it almost time to use common sense to project the games he missed when hurt?

That would be like calling Ted Williams the best player ever because you projected how he would do in 43-45 and 52-53. Too many what ifs.

Altuve has 173 extra plate appearances, and the gap in hitting isn't large enough to the point where Trout is more valuable in his shorter season.

Well I guess if not using common sense has gotten you this far

Why start now?

Good one. I think it is time to ignore 1/4 of all your posts. We can project those ignored comments to be salient. I think overall, it may make you appear to be a better poster. MVP level shit!

I feel this was the greatest compliment anyone can receive on the hoop.

75% of what I say is already worthy of being read?? That's gotta be the benchmark on here.

The projection is not necessary.

Andrelton Simmons is having quite the year in Anaheim (or LA or wherever the fuck they're from). He's hitting a career best .304/.359/.458 (122 OPS+) to go along with his stellar defense. Both WARs are a bit divisive on him (Fangraphs has him at 4.5, BB-Ref has him at 6.0), but either of them make him one of the best players in the AL.

That trade by the Braves has to sting right now.

40 games missed is too many.. especially with an also ran team. He's just entering his prime. If he stays healthy and continues at his current level we may be heading towards something similar to the MJ or Lebron situation in hoops where they could just give it to him every year.

He's amazing. 5 full seasons and led the league in WAR all 5 years. Here's the list of position players who have led the league in WAR 5 years in their entire careers:

Babe Ruth: 10
Willie Mays: 9
Rogers Hornsby: 7
Barry Bonds: 6
Ted Williams: 6
Mickey Mantle: 5
Alex Rodriguez: 5
Mike Trout: 5
