Very interesting speculation on the part of Ken Rosenthal today during the Angels game. He speculated how before Scioscia gets fired by the Angels, he'll likely resign and if that happens, the Dodgers would likely fire Mattingly to get Scioscia back in Dodger blue where he belongs. Can you imagine the excitement that would create at Chavez?

:omg:

It is a distinct possibility and how this season unfolds will probably dictate if that scenario ever plays out.

Well the Angels sure aren't helping him out any.............maybe it's time for a change all around. I mean I can see this team losing tons high scoring games but hell they aren't even scoring many runs and for the most part the pitching staff has sucked big floppies all year. Weaver will help when he comes back but no way does he save the season. If they don't turn it around soon it's all but fucking over..........sorry about the rant; being an Angel fan was a lot more fun when pitching was their strength. Why, because they won fucking games!:2cents:

Scioscia needs to be back in Dodger blue while Scully and Lasorda are still around and in good shape to enjoy it. :2cents:

What's really interesting is that Scioscia has got to see that this is a golden opportunity to reunite with the Dodgers if that's what he wants. My guess is that he hasn't thought allot about it but is bound to start exploring his options soon; despite the fact that he's locked up with the Angels thru 2018.

MLB Trade Rumors picked up on this.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com believes Angels manager Mike Scioscia needs a fresh start and proposes the Dodgers as the most obvious possibility. Rosenthal notes owner Artie Moreno would recoil at the idea of Scioscia managing the crosstown rivals, but the Angels would be better for it if they could obtain a significant player or two in a John Farrell-style trade.

Hammer, I hope it happens today. I do not dislike Donny baseball at all but I will wrap this all up with one at bat to make my point it is just as much the coach as the players. Shoktart on another thread states it is a embarrassment for the Dodgers are in last place and the players don't care. My take in all business, it starts at the top. One a bat, oh yet here it is. Bottom of the 8th in a 3-3 tie with 1 out, Kemp at 2nd and Ethier walked on 4 wide ones to set up the double play. Hernandez the backup catcher is scheduled to come up batting a robust .048, no HR, 1 RBI, Donny has A.J. Ellis the regular catcher on the bench and he is batting well over .300, 5 or 6 HRs, logic says bat Ellis if you want the win, NOPE, Donny bats Hernandez and he pops up to SS and than a lazy fly ball ends the ending. Top of 9th, Goldsmith hits a 2 run HR, game over. That is what is wrong with the Dodgers, yes the injuries are hurting and the moral is down but it is up to the boss to figure a way to get it done. Hanley comes back off the DL and the teams pumps up, then he goes down and the team plays down, that is on the manager. No one on the squad is to blame, and I would use every player in AA or AAA ball to find a way to win. That clearly sends messages but now all I see is Oh well wait till next game. Bull Shit! Scioscia can start today.

Well, if this is a real possibility, could things on both ends possibly be going better to make it happen?

Both teams are underachieving and that says, lets make a deal, water under the bridge, old Dodger coming home.
