I get that, my son was cut by an asshole coach who was friends with the other goalie's mom (ifyaknowwhatimean). But this at a high school level and practically everyone knows about it and my son got picked up by another team. Kids who still play for that coach have talked shit about him.

How pro players with media in their faces all the time don't let anything slip even off the record for so long is strange to me.
