Heat sweep the two game series with Lake Erie shutting them out 2-0 tonight. Barry Brust with back-to-back shutouts. Nice!

Barry Brust is less than a period away from AHL history - When you're mentioned in the same breath as Johnny Bower, that's nice company.

It was his third consecutive shutout, extending his goal-less streak to 231 minutes, 41 seconds. Hockey Hall of Famer Johnny Bower -- the AHL's all-time leader in wins and shutouts -- owns the league's record for longest shutout streak at 249:51.

Isn't Minnesota - Wisconsin a pretty big rivalry game? They're playing tonight and the game is being streamed at the following site:

Heat win 3-2 in Rochester tonight...Leland Irving gets the start and turns away 35 Americans shots for the win. Svensational gets his 6th of the season.

Abby off to a very solid 10-1-1-2 start.

Just saw some highlights of the Hamilton - Toronto game (Marlies won 6-1 by the way). Zack Stortini (remember Huggy Bear?) now of the Bulldogs was tossed from the game for repeatedly pounding on some poor Marlie who was prone on the ice. Yeah, you're a real tough guy Zack (what a chump).

Still have trouble with a team called Lake Erie Monsters. WTF is that all about? No city, state or province name for christ sakes they could play their home games in Long Point Ontario or fucking Toledo!

I get it. They are a generic team right?

Damn: The Komets strait-up had their asses handed to them tonight by the Icemen. Easily the most lop-sided loss that I've seen them suffer in person since I moved here three seasons ago. :(

Sens 21 year-old goaltending prospect Robin Lehner has had a stellar season thus far.

6-2-1 record.

1.77 GAA

0.945 SV%

This kid is looking more and more like a franchise goalie. 49 saves in a 3-2 victory last night.

Brust was with the Baby Sens a couple of years back. He played well in the regular season, lost his spot to Lehner in the POs and watched as Lehner won the Calder Cup and the playoff MVP. He's a very good goalie. It's nice to see him playing well.

I didn't know that he had joined the Flames organization. I thought a TV show was a prereq. for anyone joining the Heat. :burt:

Barry Brust: I'm.. I'm gonna take my talents to Abbotsford. <Gasp>

@Proteautype
Barry Brust breaks AHL record for consecutive minutes of shutout hockey, still thousands of hours behind NHL record held by Gary Bettman.

One of these days, I'll remove the pins from my Oilers voodoo doll...

LOL.

That's really odd.

I almost wrote that your voodoo doll worked dash but I didn't want people to think you were actually Oilerhate-filled enough to wish for injuries. :eek2:

I was WAAAAYYYYYY off.

lol - Nah, you never like to see guys injured (especially young guys starting out their careers). I see some Oilers fans are already calling Justin Schultz the next Paul Coffey, geez I hope he's better in his own zone than Paul.
