You can't just jump one team over the other because they beat them H2H. Mich State def belongs ahead of them still especially when you consider they were missing 2 players. I think they should be ahead of Wisconsin though and possibly Iowa

No biggie... MSU missing two key players, Michigan's big man out for the year, excuses et cetera... Spanking Sparty at the Breslin Center was another signature win. The selection committee understands this. :suds:

There is a big difference between UM missing Mitch who will NOT return this season. And MSU having two GREAT players out TEMPORARILY. This is NOT and excuse but a reality. When we are back at full capacity when ever that may be, we will be eating teams up like 10 cent wings on free beer night. I really could care less what are win/loss is playing with are hands tied behind our back. We will win some and lose some, but when your towel boys are playing you are creating depth. We will be there when it counts, make no mistake about that. As far as rankings, there are no banners hung with your mid-season number on them. Its a warm fuzzy Monday afternoon given to those teams that performed well the week prior.

And speaking of "Getting Screwed". Stauskis getting B10 player of the week. UM may have won the game but Harris absolutley owned that match up. Staukis had 19 points, Harris had 27. Not only was Harris better on offense, but his defense was sick. Stauskis is still looking for his fake Gucci wallet that Harris picked.

Stauskus also had 26 against Iowa as well. Its Player of the WEEK. Not player of the game. Stauskus was player of the week for sure.

I think Stauskas also got it because his team won twice last week and he was huge part.

Stauskus also had 26 against Iowa as well

And Harris had 24 against Indiana last week. Harris cant help the fact were short staffed having Russel Byrd jacking up 3's from the corner.:L

WTF?

USA Today | Sports | NCAAB

MSU #6
Iowa #12
Wisconsin #13
Michigan #14

Talk about getting screwed there. Wisconsin lost 3 straight and beat a terrible Purdue team and Iowa has lost to 2/3 of the ranked teams they've played with their only win coming against a slipping OSU team.

I've got Michigan ahead of Iowa but still behind the other two for now.

Doesn't really matter right now anway. It's too early to be "worried" about rankings. as posters already mentioned it's about making it to the Big Dance that really matters. Polls are so biased anyway that we can't take them seriously

who cares what the rankings say right now? it means absolutely nothing. if UM wins the big 10, they will get at least a 2 seed and I'd guess more than likely a 1 seed.

as far as talking about MSU being shorthanded. UM played without preseason all-american Mitch McGary and had to replace a back court that were both drafted in the 1st round of the NBA draft last year.

it took UM time to figure out their identity, but they have played really well over the last couple weeks. if Walton continues to grow at the point -- UM could make another nice run in the tourney.

Polls are still fun to talk and complain about when your team is getting screwed, especially on a message board.

I also agree that Michigan should be higher in the rankings above all the teams they beat.

FIRST TIME IN 25 YEARS
-Michigan became the first school to win three straight regular season games all against top-10 schools since Iowa in January 1987.....27 years ago

FIRST TIME IN 50 YEARS
-Prior to their Jan. 18 win at #3 Wisconsin, Michigan hadn't won a road game at a top-five opponent since 1964 (...50 years ago...), when it won at fifth-ranked Duke. The Wolverines had lost 36 straight road games at top-five opponents since then. But in the last week, they have defeated a pair of top-five teams -- No. 3 Wisconsin last week and third-ranked Michigan State on Saturday.

STAUSKAS IS KEY
-Michigan improved to 20-1 the past two seasons when Stauskas makes at least half of his field goal attempts.

Stauskas earned the B1G player of the week. No ifs, ands, buts or lame ass excuses about it.

Michigan is something like 40-0 under Beilein when reaching 80 points. Another fun fact for all you Michigan backers. :yahoo:

So if you want to run with Michigan, let's run.

Man...I had you guys wrote off, but your boys has it goin on now. Ain't no reason a rematch from last year's ff can't happen again. Both teams are different but have a couple of players that will remember.

That shit would be fun.

I think you guys would take us. Burke had a hard enough time penetrating that 2-3 zone last year.... Spike, LeVert and Walton would have to step up their game(s) big time. But here's to a rematch! :suds:
