While most of the MU student body and many media members around here(mid-MO) knew he was gay almost 2 years ago it wasn't public until after the season was over and he was named All-American.

Not to mention as soon as Sam would've threw an incomplete pass everybody would've been screaming for Tebow all the time. Quarterback controversy for sure and that's how coaches get fired.

Good for them. While I am very much in favor of Sam getting a fair shake at making the team, I think the media circus should be minimized.

And that's was a good thing. Fans grouse about Bradford's 59% completion percentage, so why would we want Tim Tebow's 47%? The guy was flat-out awful. It's well documented. He might have been the worst starting QB in NFL history.

Personally, I really like the guy, but there's a reason he's no longer in the league... and we'd want him in St. Louis, why?

They didn't even bring him for a tryout Caynine. He was cut-off at the door. Who said anything about bringing him to sign him without a work-out? Is that not what they are giving SAM? He gets the usual camp contract to go through camp and a tryout. That is all I stated back then and now.

Spot on RoboticDreams. The double standard and hypocrisy going on here is palatable and the double ideology BS is so bad that this fool can't even delineate the real issue about his own life. There was no point in bringing him in for a tryout. We (and obviously every other NFL front office) already know he's a lousy QB.

Yeah, I'm familiar with them (well, I wasn't with Shane Ray). But the numbers don't bear out your theory. Was just curious how you came to your conclusion, considering Sam's 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss led not only Mizzou, but the SEC as a whole.

Michael Sam: 11.5 sacks/19 TFL
Kony Ealy: 9.5 sacks/14.5 TFL.
Markus Golden: 6.5 sacks/13 TFL.
Shane Ray: 4.5 sacks/9 TFL

Michael Sam: 11.5 sacks/19 TFL
Kony Ealy: 9.5 sacks/14.5 TFL.
Markus Golden: 6.5 sacks/13 TFL.
Shane Ray: 4.5 sacks/9 TFL

Kony was getting double teamed.
Markus was playing out of position at LB to get his speed on the field.
Shane was a SO and playing limited time under more experienced seniors, he also isn't polished in run stopping which cut his time.

Sam had 9 sacks in 3 games and 2.5 in the other 11. He went off against an inferior opponent (Arkansas St) and 2 weaker SEC offenses who were playing from behind and doubling Kony. Just watching them play every week he didn't impress me as a pass rusher over the other guys.
