Did anyone think that the Phins could recover from losing three of its starting offensive linemen to find itself in strong contention to grab the final AFC WC spot? I know that I didn't.

Miami is tied with Baltimore for that spot, though the Ravens own the head-to-head tie-breaker. Looks to me, however, that their remaining schedules favor the Phins. Miami hosts NE, goes to Buffalo, and finishes at home against NYJ. The Ravens are at Detroit, host NE, and at the Bengals.

Both teams could lose at least two games, so either SD or NYJ, which are both only one game back of them in the standings, cold also grab that final spot. Looks to me, though, like Miami has a pretty good shot to earn what looked like a very unlikely playoff birth a few weeks ago.

I dislike the Dolphins and Ravens equally as contenders for the #6 seed, but put a gun to my head and I would have to say the Dolphins make it (wait, what?) in the playoffs based on schedule.

I have no affection for either team. Just think it's pretty remarkable the Phins have played well enough to perhaps overcome the loss of three starting o-linemen and earn a playoff spot.

Ravens will get it. Miami won't win 3 straight division games.

It looks like the last WC spot will go to whichever of these teams wins 1 of their last 3, but I could easily see them both losing all 3 and a team like the Chargers or Jets sneaking in.

Probably don't have to do that, though. Two of the three is likely to suffice. If they play the Pats halfway close this week (and who knows, prehaps even win that game?), then I think they are likely to be favored at Buffalo and hosting the Jets.

BAL...there's a saying in boxing that in order to win the champ's belt you have to knock them out and MIN had them on the ropes...I think BAL will lose at least one of the 3 remaining games, so MIA will have to take 2 of the 3 they have...idk...2 big wins on the road last 2 weeks, but I'm not confident. I like the Ravens to squeak out the 6th seed, but lose @ NE or @ CIN which ever has the 3rd seed.

If Baltimore losses only one game, then Miami has to sweep its remaining three games, since they are currently tied and Baltimore owns the head-to-head win.

I certainly understand your point about not counting Baltimore out. Just find it pretty amazing for Miami to have overcome so much adversity and still have a pretty good shot at getting in.

And you don't think Baltimore has overcome any obstacles this year ????....All the losses in the offseason, then Pitta, Jacoby, Osemele, Rice and having to start a virtual rookie undersized center.....Pretty much had to rebuild the secondary while everyone is bringing their A game against the champs.....But we still are sitting in the 6th seed after all that.....Pretty amazing when you take the hater glasses off, huh ?
NE and Denver don't want to see us in the playoffs for obvious reasons, but I believe we will be there, so watch out, we just might have found that lightening in a bottle again....just sayin'....:fencing:

Personally, I'd welcome a chance to even that score. :fencing:

Like I just posted in another thread, though, Baltimore still has a lot of work to do in order to get in. Win at least two of the three at Detroit, hosting NE, and at Cincinnati and I'll be convinced that Baltimore could by very formidable in the playoffs. Just not convinced yet that that's going to happen. :suds:

That's right...MIA spent a lot of money this offseason...I think 7-6 is probably disappointing...I think injuries or losses along the OL is almost par for the course this year so I don't give them a whole lot for that...the headlines. etc...getting Incognito, actually both players away from the team I think allowed them to focus on football...they do have the easier road and if #42 plays like he did vs PIT, they have enough weapons to win all 3.

There was a losing streak they kept on talking about during the game but if you look at the history, these teams are pretty much even in the the W-L column. This loss for the Pats was not unexpected except for the biggest of homers.

Oh that will be another big test for the Pats, they could very well finish 11-5 or even 10-6. Still, another winning season is good. I think it will be 12-4 or 11-5, which should be good enough for a bye, though no HFA, unless the wheels fall off of the Bronkies.
