yes, add lack of ball movement as the reason the Heat are struggling tonight

We lost all hope of winning this game the minute Spoles decided to rest our 2 best players at the same time.

I don't mind it when we're ahead or if it is a one or two possession game but when we're nearly down double digits or down by double digits, he can't do that.

Doesn't make any sense

I never ever got his substitution patterns from day 1 and still do not 7 years later

I did not expect to win this one honestly.

I expect to win Atlanta and Milwaukee which is why I said last night I think we win 2 of 3....This is the one I had us losing

Paolo, does the 613 part in your name stand for LeBron, Bosh, and Wade?

One of those well deserved losses for the Heat - they did everything to earn it. Sadly, the Dolphins are as well

3rd and 13 again the Fins pass it short of the chains, though it may have been the right decision in this situation. - thankfully, our idiot kicker makes it this time - we get ball next half to start - again, hopeful, but doubtful we score a TD on that initial drive

Remember when Spo used to be a defensive coach?

God he's been shit as a defensive coach for at least 3 years now
He got rid of his defensive minded coaches for more offense minded coaches...too bad they are just offensive....

If Spo can change this team into a top 15 defensive team, we are a 45-48 win team.

Our defense just sucks, especially against the 3 ball. Spo has to do something, Riley needs to make some changes.

What is there to change? It is a philosophy issue....not a player's issue

This is the bigger issue. People thinking the players have no blame. When players take the blame and responsibility - things will get better, until then - expect much of the same - its on them. They get paid the big bucks to play a fucking game

Shawne Williams is easily playing the best ball of his career. It's going to be hard to demote him with Josh McRoberts and his uneven play, it is not? -- Dom, Oakland Park.

Williams starting for McRoberts is not even an issue for this team. Cole simply being in the rotation is. He's proven the last 2 years that he's un-equipped to perform against the elite San Antonios of the world. He's a below average shooter who is a deer in the headlights on...

A: Put it this way: These are the decisions coaches love to have. Yes, Shawne has been a revelation, save, perhaps, for Monday's performance in Washington, when he was a non-factor. But the Heat did not sign McRoberts to a four-year contract to feature him as a supporting player. Now, that doesn't mean that McRoberts can't evolve into a valued sixth man. And as long as the going is good, Erik Spoelstra likely is going to limit his tinkering. But to fully explore Josh's possibilities means to explore them alongside Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, as the Heat did during the close of the game in New York. That's what these early stages of the season will be about, seeing what works and who work well together. What we're seeing now or even in a month might not be what we see in the playoff rotation. Spoelstra has not been shy to move to something different when the games begin to mean more. I think before the end of the calendar year, you'll be seeing McRoberts as a starter.

Q: Miami cannot sustain a seven-game series against the top several teams. Size makes a difference without LeBron James. -- Martin.

A: Agree, and it's something that has to be addressed. But McRoberts does play bigger than Williams, so perhaps that would be a start. And getting Danny Granger in the perimeter rotation, with his size, also could help. Beyond that, Luol Deng has to become a routine presence on the boards. It has to be by committee.

Q: Haven't we been on this same ride before: Wade showing flashes of greatness, then reinjuring himself to miss two to three weeks? -- Aura.

A: Well, yes and no. Usually when it turns ugly for Dwyane, it turns really ugly and protracted. That's not how I'd term the absence with the strained left hamstring. Those, I think the Heat can deal with. A hamstring. A groin. What creates the problems are the knees. So far, so good. So enjoy the moment, since the Heat have no other option but to live in it. He made it through both games of the back-to-back in New York and Washington, so that's a start. And, at least offensively, he played well in both games (although he did go without an assist and with only three rebounds in his 23 minutes).

And the coach gets paid very well to sit on a bench and coach. Fans pay to see players not coaches.
